SURREY RCMP are requesting the public’s assistance in a pedestrian motor vehicle collision that occurred on Saturday, July 29 in the Newton area.
At approximately 12:38 a.m. on Saturday, police responded to a report of a hit-and-run pedestrian collision in the 8200-block of 128 Street. Police officers learned a black sedan was northbound on 128 Street when it struck a pedestrian in the roadway. The subsequent collision resulted in the vehicle sustaining obvious frontend damage.
A male pedestrian was transported to a local area hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The suspect vehicle fled the scene. The only current description of the vehicle is a black sedan with frontend damage, last seen northbound on 128 Street.
The investigation is in the very early stages and police are on scene collecting CCTV footage and speaking to witnesses. Alcohol and speed have not been ruled out as contributing factors.
