‘Honoured to be first woman appointed Chief Opposition Whip for Conservative Party’: Kerry-Lynne Findlay

KERRY-LYNNE Findlay, Chief Opposition Whip for the Conservative Party of Canada, on Wednesday said in a statement regarding her role on the Conservative Leadership team: “I am honoured to be the first woman appointed to the role of Chief Opposition Whip for the Conservative Party of Canada. In receiving this position, I am proud to represent British Columbians and all Canadians and will continue to advocate for their interests in the House of Commons.”

On September 13, Pierre Poilievre, Leader of the Conservative Party and the Official Opposition, had announced changes to the Conservative Parliamentary Leadership Team.

Findlay said: “This appointment is a continuation of the CPC history of women holding significant positions in leadership, including Prime Minister. I am pleased that our new leader Pierre Poilievre is upholding this tradition.”

She added: “The federal Liberals will be significantly increasing payroll taxes on January 1st, 2022 and tripling the carbon tax on April 1st. This is the liberal response to 40-year high inflation, as interest rates continue to rise.

“Conservatives will fight Trudeau’s tax hikes and inflationary deficits to protect Canadians’ pay cheques and savings. Canadians are hurting. It is our job to transform that hurt into hope.”
