ON Tuesday, September 24 at approximately 5 p.m., New Westminster Police was called to the 1400-block of Salter Street for a report of sudden death. Police located a 38-year-old female deceased under suspicious circumstances.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) was contacted and has assumed conduct of the investigation. IHIT will be working in partnership with the New Westminster Police Major Crime Unit to gather evidence and determine the circumstances of the death.

Police said they are in the evidence-gathering phase, and no further information will be provided at this time.
