ON Sunday, December 19  at 11:40 a.m., Burnaby RCMP responded to a report of a stabbing in the area of Metrotown Mall at 4800 Kingsway. Burnaby frontline officers responded and secured the area. The victim was transported to the hospital, where they were pronounced dead.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has taken conduct of the investigation.

If you were in the Metrotown area between 11 a.m. and 1 on Sunday and saw anything suspicious, you are requested to contact police.
