ON Wednesday, April 1 at 11:40 p.m., the Squamish RCMP was called to a home in the 40000-block of Government Road due to a check well-being request. Police located a deceased woman inside the residence. Due to the suspicious nature of the death the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) was contacted and has assumed conduct of the investigation.

Investigators do not feel there is any outstanding risk to the public at this time and they may be at the scene and in the neighbourhood for several more days as they continue to gather evidence.
