INVESTIGATORS with Ontario’s York Regional Police Special Victims Unit have laid sex offence charges and are urging witnesses and potential victims to come forward following an incident at a mall in the City of Vaughan.
On Monday, April 14, 2025, police were notified of an incident that took place at Vaughan Mills Mall on Friday, April 11. The victim reported that while they were at the mall, a male suspect approached, touched them in a sexual manner and offered to purchase items for them in exchange for further sexual contact.
Through the course of the investigation, officers were able to identify and charge the suspect.
Investigators have released an image of the accused, as they believe there may be additional victims and witnesses who have not yet come forward.
Jairatan Singh, 28, of Toronto has been charged with sexual assault, and invitation to sexual touching.
