SURREY RCMP are seeking the public’s assistance regarding a vehicle of interest in the ongoing investigation of shots fired at the house of the son of a temple leader who is also a businessman. The family owns a banquet hall in Surrey.
On December 27, 2023 at approximately 8:03 a.m., Surrey RCMP responded to a report of shots fired at a residence in the 14900-block of 80 Avenue.
“Thankfully no one was injured during this incident,” said RCMP Media Relations Officer Cpl. Sarbjit Sangha on Friday. “The Surrey RCMP General Investigation Unit has been working to advance the investigation and a vehicle of interest has been identified.”
The vehicle is believed to be a blue, 4-door hatchback, Mitsubishi Mirage GT or SE between the model years 2017 and 2019.
“Anyone who may have witnessed this vehicle in the 14900-block of 80 Avenue on December 27, 2023 between the hours of 2 a.m. and 3 a.m. or if anyone has information about this vehicle, please call the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502, and quote file number 2023-210482,” said Sangha.
The South Asian business community has been targeted by extortionists in Ontario, Alberta and B.C.
