Lack of accessible supports are causing Richmond businesses to struggle: MLA Teresa Wat

MLA for Richmond North Centre Teresa Wat says that government’s lack of accessible supports for businesses as well as its failure to waive unnecessary fixed costs have had a detrimental impact on Richmond’s business community throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

Wat cited many examples of constituents who own restaurants and travel agencies who can’t access the NDP’s Small and Medium-Sized Business Grant. They have also expressed their dismay that the government hasn’t waived Consumer Protection B.C. licensing fees and other fixed costs, as other provinces have done to support their business owners.
