THE latest Nanos federal ballot tracking (May 11) has the Liberals at 36.1 per cent support and the Conservatives at 34.4 per cent.

With a margin of error of plus or minus 3.1 percentage points, that is a statistical tie.

The NDP are at 18.5 percent support, followed by the Bloc Quebecois at 3.7 per cent and the Greens at 6 per cent.

However, the Liberals can take some consolation from the fact that Justin Trudeau is the preferred choice as Prime Minister at 39.6 per cent of Canadians while Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer is way behind at 20.9 per cent.

NDP’s Jagmeet Singh is the preferred choice as Prime Minister at 8.1 per cent of Canadians followed by Green Party Leader Elizabeth May at 7.7 per cent. Twenty three per cent of Canadians were unsure who they preferred.

More than half of Canadians (55.1 per cent) believe Trudeau has the qualities of a good political leader while 40.9 per cent believe Scheer has the qualities of a good political leader.

One in three (35.2 per cent) say Jagmeet Singh has the qualities of a good political leader, while 34.5 per cent believe the same about May. One in seven (14.1 per cent) say BQ Leader Martine Ouellet has the qualities of a good political leader (Quebec only).

  1. Whoever says Justin Trudeau has the qualities of a ‘Good Leader’ must be very uneducated and a believer of him wasting tax payer’s dollars on his excessive (and photo-op) spending….plus his inability to speak properly! He is so ‘into himself’ it is pathetic! Justin Trudeau is looking after himself only….just because he is all about himself! Period!
