POLICE have arrested a suspect in an overnight glass-breaking spree.
On December 4, just before 5 a.m., North Vancouver RCMP received a report of a man breaking windows at businesses in the Park and Tilford business centre located at 333 Brooksbank Avenue. Multiple officers responded and located a suspect within the complex. He was immediately arrested and taken into police custody.
It’s alleged that the suspect used a modified hockey stick to break the front windows of approximately six businesses at Park and Tilford. No items were stolen, and no injuries were reported.
The suspect remains in custody and is facing charges of mischief.
“The quick-thinking actions of our frontline officers stopped the suspect from potentially damaging further windows,” said Cpl. Mansoor Sahak, Media Relations Officer for North Vancouver RCMP. “While a motive has not been established, police believe mental health may have played a role. We recognize the impact this incident has on the affected businesses, and we’re working closely with them as the investigation continues.”
Anyone who witnessed the incident and has not yet spoken with police is asked to call 604-985-1311 and quote file #25-25392.
