Man arrested in relation to barn fire in Langley

ON June 6, 2025, at approximately 11:45 a.m., Langley RCMP received a call for service in the 20500-block of 102B Avenue for a structure fire. Officers located a barn that was fully engulfed in flames.

Police conducted an extensive investigation and determined there were grounds to believe the fire had been set deliberately. Additionally, the officers conducted interviews with several witnesses and gathered key evidence. It was determined an alleged assault had also occurred during the incident.

Christopher Gerald William England, a Langley resident, was arrested on June 7 in response to this incident with the assistance of the Lower Mainland District Integrated Police Dog Service (LMDIPDS). He has been charged with multiple offences, including arson, assault with a weapon, and obstructing police. He remains in custody pending his next court appearance.

“This arrest is the result of diligent investigative work and coordinated response by our officers and partner agencies,” said Sgt. Zynal Sharoom of Langley RCMP. “We are grateful for the community’s ongoing support in our investigation.”
