Man charged in hit-and-run that injured Langley Mountie

 

ON August 9, 2024, at approximately 11:20 a.m., a Langley RCMP officer was conducting traffic enforcement duties in the 5000-block of 208th Street when they were struck by a vehicle.

After a lengthy investigation, Marek Grundza of Langley has been charged with:

* One count of criminal negligence causing bodily harm;
* One count of dangerous driving causing bodily harm; and
* One count of failing to stop after an accident resulting in bodily harm.

“The Langley RCMP’s Serious Crime Unit has worked diligently and conducted a comprehensive investigation, which has now resulted in charges,” said Sgt. Zynal Sharoom of Langley RCMP. “This hit-and-run has had a profound impact on the officer who was seriously injured and is still in the process of recovering.”
