Man dead in Whalley residential fire

SURREY RCMP said on Monday that a man who was was located with life-threatening injuries in a house in Whalley that caught fire on April 16 has passed away.

On April 16 at approximately 6:45 p.m., Surrey RCMP were called to assist Surrey Fire Services at a residential fire located in the 13500-block of 113 Avenue. The home was fully engulfed and residents in neighbouring homes were also evacuated. A man in his 60’s was located with life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital.

The cause of fire is still under investigation. Surrey RCMP will continue to work together with Surrey Fire Services and will be in the area conducting neighbourhood inquiries.
