SURREY RCMP have arrested a man in connection with a fatal stabbing that took place inside a residence in the Whalley area.
On October 1, shortly after 10 p.m., Surrey RCMP responded to a report of an assault with a weapon at a residence in the 10900-block of 128A Street. Officers attended and arrested an adult male who surrendered himself to police. Police located a critically injured man inside the residence. BC Ambulance Service attended and provided treatment and care to the man; however, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the residence.
The initial indications are that this incident stemmed from a dispute between parties known to one another. The suspect remains in custody at this time. No charges have been laid as the investigation is ongoing.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been called in and will be working in partnership with the Surrey RCMP.
Police are currently in the evidence-gathering phase and no further information will be provided at this time.
