Man known to police shot dead in Surrey’s Fleetwood

SURREY RCMP are assisting the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) following a fatal shooting in Fleetwood.

On Sunday, November 29, at approximately 7:40 p.m., Surrey RCMP responded to a shooting in front of a shopping complex at the corner of 152nd Street and Fraser Highway. A critically injured man was located. Paramedics attended and provided aid to the man; however, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The media showed a body covered by a tarp just outside Shoppers Drug Mart.

IHIT has been engaged and is actively investigating the incident. The victim is known to police and this is believed to be a targeted incident.

While this shooting caused a risk to public safety as it unfolded, there is no indication of any ongoing risk in the area, police said.
