MLAs Dallas Brodie and Tara Armstrong launch new party, OneBC

B.C. MLAs Dallas Brodie and Tara Armstrong have launched a new party named OneBC.

The party launch was announced online by interim leader Brodie, MLA for Vancouver-Quilchena, who saidOneBC is for British Columbians who are proud of their history and aren’t afraid to fight for a prosperous and beautiful future.”

“After nearly a decade of socialist policies, our province is falling apart. And when I realized that none of the other parties had the integrity or courage to make the bold changes we need to survive, I knew it was time to build something new,” said Brodie.

Tara Armstrong, MLA for Kelowna-Lake Country-Coldstream, will serve as the party’s House Leader. Before her election in 2024, she grew her Dragon’s Den startup into a large and successful business franchise.

OneBC has been registered with Elections BC and will become the fourth party in the Legislature with official party status.

The party said it has announced several major policy proposals on its website 1bc.ca.

Brodie and Armstrong were among the former BC Conservatives to go public last month with allegations that their party leader John Rustad and senior staff had rigged the party’s AGM elections. In her launch video, Brodie promised reforms to protect election integrity, accusing the NDP and the BC Conservatives of “making a mockery of our democracy.”
