Motorcycle rider killed in Pitt Meadows crash

AN investigation is underway in Pitt Meadows after a collision on Sunday, April 19  that has resulted in the death of a male motorcycle rider.

The collision between a white SUV and a motorcycle occurred at approximately 5:20 p.m. near Golden Ears Way and the Lougheed Highway off-ramp.

The Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) has been deployed to the scene and the ongoing investigation is resulting in traffic closures.

As of Sunday evening, Golden Ears Way is closed northbound between the Highway 7 eastbound exit to Maple Ridge / Mission and the Highway 7 westbound exit to Pitt Meadows / Coquitlam.  Southbound traffic is not impacted.

Drivers are asked to take an alternate route and to expect delays.

The cause and circumstances of the collision remain under investigation.
