ON Thursday, November 21 at approximately 7:25 a.m., Ridge Meadows RCMP frontline officers responded to report of a serious motor vehicle incident in the 19800-block of Old Dewdney Trunk Road in Pitt Meadows. Police determined a dump truck, an SUV and a sedan were involved.
Pitt Meadows Fire Department and BC Emergency Health Services (BC EHS) were on scene when police arrived. BC EHS Advanced Life Support extracted a trapped driver out of the sedan.
Once the driver was removed from the vehicle, BC EHS performed life-saving measures on them before they were transported to hospital. No other injuries were sustained by the other drivers.
The Integrated Reconstruction Analysis Reconstruction Team (ICARS) and the Commercial Vehicle Safety and Enforcement (CVSE) were also called out to assist with the investigation. Old Dewdney Trunk Road is closed between Harris Road and 203 Street in Pitt Meadows, and will remain closed for several hours as police continue to investigate.
Police said this is currently an active and ongoing investigation and no further information is available at this time.
