THE City of Surrey’s 14th annual Surrey Tree Lighting Festival and Holiday Market returns to Surrey Civic Plaza this weekend. Presented by Concord Pacific, the festival will feature free live entertainment on four stages, over 35 vendors in the Holiday Market, photos with Santa, Enchanted Eats on University Drive, and the tree lighting ceremony. Admission is free.

4:30 p.m. – Fraser Valley Academy of Dance’s ‘The Nutcracker’ on North Pole Stage
6 p.m. – Higher Ground Dance Battle Finale in Candy Cane Dance Tent
7 p.m. – Surrey Shines Bright Show featuring a green and grumpy guest and Cheerful Little-Who on Snowflake Stage
7:15 p.m. – ‘Ember’s Awakening’ Fire Show featuring DJ Flipout on Snowflake Stage
Additional highlights include over 50 performers, local choirs, free amusement rides, children’s acts and more. Concord Pacific and Surrey Fire Fighters’ Charitable Society will be hosting a toy drive benefitting the Surrey Christmas Bureau to help families in need. Free hot chocolate will be offered to the first 100 people to donate a new, unwrapped toy (valued over $10) each day.
