THE new BC NDP Government Caucus Executive was appointed Wednesday. The new executive joining Premier David Eby, includes the Chair, House Leader, Whip and deputies as well as the two chairs of the Government Caucus Committees.
Eby and the new executive’s top priorities remain helping people with the housing crisis, challenges in healthcare, concerns about safety in their community, and building a sustainable economy that works for everyone, states an NDP press release.
“I’m so honoured to work with this diverse, talented, dedicated group of individuals who have demonstrated a commitment to always putting British Columbians first,” said Eby. “Our BC NDP government knows you and your family have faced a lot in the last five years, especially with the effects of global inflation, rising costs and the pandemic. Our team is looking forward to delivering for British Columbians every day.”
New Caucus Chair Nicholas Simons, MLA for Powell River-Sunshine Coast, said, “I’m looking forward to taking on this important new role, and pulling the entire team together so we can all continue our work, taking on the issues that are important to people.”
