THE City of Delta on Thursday announced the launch of a new Settlement Services Outreach Program in partnership with Fraser Valley Regional Library (FVRL) and five local settlement agencies. This program brings free, multilingual support services directly to Delta’s public libraries to help immigrants and newcomers successfully integrate into the community.

Delivered by trained settlement workers, the program provides personalized guidance on a wide range of topics, including housing, employment, education, healthcare, childcare, public transportation, and more.

Delta Mayor George V. Harvie said: “This program is about ensuring that new residents have access to the resources and support they need to thrive in our community. We’re grateful to our partners for helping make these essential services more accessible and welcoming.”

Scott Hargrove, Chief Executive Officer of Fraser Valley Regional Library, said: “FVRL is proud to support the City of Delta in the Settlement Services Outreach Program. Libraries are a fundamental support for many new immigrants as they settle into their new home.”

The program is a collaboration with the following agencies:

  • DIVERSEcity Community Resources Society
  • MOSAIC / WorkBC
  • Options Community Services
  • Progressive Intercultural Community Services (PICS) Society
  • S.U.C.C.E.S.S.
