ON Thursday, October 2, the New Westminster Police Department shared information about a stabbing that occurred on September 30 near the 400-block of Columbia Street in downtown New Westminster. In this investigation, the victim did not know his assailant, and he suffered several stab wounds.

Officers have since obtained CCTV photos of the person believed to be a person of interest. Investigators are asking members of the public to take a close look at these photos, to share them with friends and family, and to call police if they believe they know who the person is.

“Please take a close look at the person in these photos,” said Sgt. Andrew Leaver on Thursday. “If you know who this is we ask that you call us to share what you know with an investigator.”
