One motorcyclist dead, another seriously injured in collision in Surrey

Fraser Highway is currently closed in both directions between 184 Street and Highway 15 (176 Street) and is expected to remain closed for several hours

 

ON Thursday, March 30 at approximately 6:30 p.m., Surrey RCMP responded to a complaint of two motorcycles colliding in the 18200-block of Fraser Highway in Cloverdale. The motorcycles were travelling eastbound on Fraser Highway approaching 182 Street, when they both lost control and struck the center median.

The 49-year-old male rider of one of the motorcycles was transported to a local area hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The other rider, a male, suffered serious injuries.

Alcohol and speed have not been ruled out as contributing factors to this collision. The investigation is still in the very early stages, police said.
