ONTARIO: Arrests of Navdeep Chauhan and Arshjot Singh prevent vehicle thefts

ON Tuesday, May 10 at 3:15 a.m., officers were called to the area of Bloor Street and Fieldgate Drive in Mississauga for a report of a vehicle theft in progress. Officers arrived and arrested two males in relation to the theft.

The males were in possession of multiple blank key fobs, and a master computer key programmer (used to reprogram fobs).

Navdeep Chauhan, a 24-year-old man from Brampton, is charged with:

* Possessing automobile master key (four counts)
* Possession of device to obtain computer service

Arshjot Singh, a 24-year-old man from Caledon, is charged with:

* Mischief over $5,000

* Theft of motor vehicle

* Possession of automobile master key (four counts)

* Possession of device to obtain computer device

Both were released and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton at a later date.

“Exceptional work done by investigators. These arrests have thwarted vehicle thefts from occurring within the Region of Peel and causing the loss of thousands of dollars for the members of our community.” Peel Regional Police Superintendent Rob Higgs.
