ONTARIO: Charanjeet Singh, 26, of Mississauga charged with murder in female’s death

ON Monday at approximately 6 p.m., Peel Regional Police were called to a retail store in Mississauga in the area of Mavis Road and Britannia Road for a stabbing in progress.

Local media identified the store as a Canadian Tire store.

Police located a female with no vital signs. She was suffering from apparent stab wounds. She was pronounced deceased on scene. A male was also located on scene suffering from minor injuries. He was identified on scene as the suspect and taken into custody. The suspect was transported to a local trauma centre where he was treated for his injuries.

A 26-year-old male from Mississauga, Charanjeet Singh, has been charged with first-degree murder. He will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton to answer to this charge. The victim’s identity is not being released pending next of kin notification.
