ONTARIO: Four South Asians arrested after loaded firearm seized outside Vaughan restaurant

ONTARIO’S York Regional Police has charged four people with firearms offences after a loaded gun was seized following a disturbance call in restaurant parking lot in the City of Vaughan.

On Sunday, January 7 at approximately 2 a.m., police responded to a fight involving five to 10 individuals outside a restaurant in the area of Windflower Gate and Nova Star Drive. When officers arrived on scene, most had already left in different vehicles.

However, police learned that the three male and one female occupants of a white BMW were in possession of a firearm. Officers stopped the vehicle and through investigation, located a loaded firearm.

Those charged are Hasanpreet Singh, 26, Amit Kapoor, 37, Prince Singh, 22, and Harpreet Kaur, 35, all of Brampton.

Each of them have been charged with possession of a loaded prohibited firearm, and possession of a prohibited device.

Kaur faces an additional charge of obstruct peace officer.
