ONTARIO’S Peel Regional Police investigators have located a firearm following a search warrant at a residence in Brampton.
On April 24, the 22 Division Criminal Investigative Bureau commenced an investigation into a shooting that occurred at a residence in the area of Raindrop Terrace and Mississauga Road in the city of Brampton.
On June 4, investigators executed a search warrant at a residence in the area of Swanton Road and Victoriaville Road in the city of Brampton. Investigators located a 9mm Glock firearm, 17-round magazine with 16 rounds of ammunition, and a quantity of black tar heroin.
Two men from Brampton were arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
- Maninder Singh, 23 years old:
* Discharge firearm in reckless manner
* Knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm
* Possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
* Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition or knowing its possession is unauthorized
* Possession of altered serial number
* Possession for the purpose of trafficking
- Tirath Singh, 24 years old:
* Intentionally discharge a firearm recklessly
Both individuals were held for a bail hearing and attended the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
