FOUR South Asian occupants of a pickup truck fleeing from police after a fight on Sunday night at the Wings restaurant on King George Boulevard in Newton didn’t get too far as their vehicle hit a curb and rolled over.

Most of them were known to police.

Surrey RCMP said a traffic officer who was in the area witnessed a vehicle fleeing away from the scene. He attempted to pull over the vehicle, but it didn’t stop and continued on for a couple of blocks to 135 A Street and 68th Avenue where it hit a curb and rolled over.

All the occupants of the truck fled but were located by police. The driver was identified and issued a number of tickets. A dangerous driving charge has also been recommended.

However, police said no charges were laid in the altercation at the restaurant as it appeared to be consensual and no weapons were involved.
