THE New Westminster Police Department Street Crime Unit has seized a large quantity of pills, drugs and cash in connection to an ongoing drug trafficking investigation.

In January, the Street Crime Unit began its investigation and has been working closely with another regional policing agency. A search warrant was conducted on a property in the Queensborough neighbourhood.

“Drug trafficking and the violence associated with it is not welcome in New Westminster,” said Sgt. Andrew Leaver on Friday. “If you think your illegal activity isn’t going to be noticed by our Street Crime Unit then I’d ask you to pause and think again. We’re watching.”

The New Westminster Police Department is reminding the public that if they have information about drug trafficking in New Westminster they are asked to share what they know with investigators by calling 604-525-5411.
