THE Honda Celebration of Light will illuminate the sky over English Bay on July 20, 24, and 27 – and the world’s longest-running offshore fireworks competition will feature pyrotechnics teams from Portugal, Malaysia, and the United Kingdom.
“We are thrilled to once again have this spectacular festival and fireworks extravaganza in Vancouver. This hugely popular event draws visitors worldwide and is a prime example of the world-class entertainment B.C. has to offer,” said Lana Popham, Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture and Sport, on Wednesday.

Concord Pacific will be holding a draw for 100 Concord Pacific Grandstand tickets for those that live in the Concord Pacific Place and City Gate neighbourhoods. The draw will be for the July 20th Honda Celebration of Light and will take place on June 20.

“Macedos Pirotecnia” is a name with 89 years of History in the Portuguese Pyrotechnics industry. The pyrotechnic activity in the family began in 1934 by Joaquim da Silva Macedo, who passed on all his knowledge, techniques and methods to his son and grandchildren. They now manage the company and have adapted modern methods and expanded nationally and internationally to pyrotechnics markets and competitions representing their country and proud history.

From their modest beginnings to the international stage. Sulen, Jeffry, Syukri, & Faishal continue to shine bright, creating breathtaking fireworks spectacles that light up the world.

Team Pyrotex Fireworx
Pyrotex Fireworx is known around the world for its originality and pure emotion within its shows. We literally breathe the event and put every bit of energy into the show to try and win. We want to make you cry but also to make you happy. Pyrotex uses state-of-the-art technology and software to design traditional and pyromusical firework displays. With the combination of unique design knowledge and advanced technical ability in hand, we can push the boundaries to create a masterpiece in the sky.

At 10 p.m. each night the fireworks will begin from barges located in English Bay. Music simulcasts can be heard on CFMI Rock 101. The winning team will be announced on Wednesday, July 31.
The event welcomes back the Red Bull Air Show, a spectacular pre-show performance happening on all three festival nights at 7:40 p.m.
This year, the Honda Celebration of Light is excited to announce the premiere of an electric drone show, sponsored by the BC Honda Dealers. Each night at approximately 9:50 p.m., attendees can watch a dazzling, choreographed drone display light up the skies over English Bay.
Honda Celebration of Light attendees can reserve a seat with exclusive VIP and family-friendly viewing options with the best seats in the house! Limited seats are available for the three ticketed viewing locations: Scotiabank Lounge, Inukshuk Point and the Concord Pacific Grandstand. For those interested in hosting private groups with the best views of the barges, there are VIP private cabanas and larger group hosting patio spaces available to rent.

The Honda Celebration of Light is B.C.’s largest public event and the longest-running offshore fireworks competition in the world. It attracts up to 400,000 spectators along the shores of English Bay each night. Owned by the volunteer Vancouver Fireworks Festival Society, the event contributes more than $265 million in economic activity to the region each year. The Honda Celebration of Light event is produced by Vancouver-based Brandlive Management Group in collaboration with Archangel Fireworks Inc.
