A North Delta residential community has experienced six residential break-and-enters from November 15, 2023, to January 10, and Delta Police investigators have identified connections between four of the six files.

This same suspect may be responsible for the remaining two break-ins, or these investigations may be connected to a separate suspect, say police.

The affected homes lie east of Centre Street and west of Brooke Road, and are situated between the Fraser River and 84 Avenue.  The homes are targeted during daytime/twilight hours.  Points of entry have been through rear glass doors, and the doors have been pried or had the glass broken.

The first suspect appears to be a male of South Asian descent estimated to be between 30 and 50 years old and is often wearing a baseball cap and a mask/partial face covering.  A silver or grey mid-sized sedan may be associated.

Police are actively investigating and residents in the targeted neighborhood can expect a heightened police presence as officers conduct door-to-door visits seeking witnesses or surveillance footage. Collaborating with partners from the Integrated Forensic Identification team and other police agencies with similar cases, Delta Police say they are committed to resolving this crime spree.

Police are asking residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity, such as individuals loitering in parked cars for extended periods, someone canvassing door-to-door appearing to identify unoccupied homes, or the sound of breaking glass.
