Richmond murder victim, who was targeted, identified

THE Integrated Investigation Homicide Team say investigators have identified the male who was found dead after police responded to a shots-fired call on Thursday (October 2) just before 12:30 a.m. in the 3400 block of Regina Avenue in Richmond.

Police found an unresponsive male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds when they arrived at the scene. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team was called in and they are working with the Richmond RCMP to obtain and process the evidence.

IHIT said that although the male had been identified, his name would not be released until his family had been advised.

“Investigators are looking to confirm the motive for this shooting and what we can say at this point is that this does appear to be a targeted homicide,” said IHIT Staff-Sgt. Jennifer Pound.
