ON Friday, November 22 shortly before 10:15 a.m., Richmond RCMP received a report of a man allegedly uttering threats against police while live-streaming on a social media platform. According to the complainant, the man was outside of Richmond City Hall.
Richmond RCMP said they quickly flooded the area and located and arrested the man without incident.
“We commend the member of the public who promptly recognized the potential risk and reported this incident, enabling officers to act swiftly and arrest the individual without incident. This quick action demonstrates the importance of community vigilance and cooperation in preventing harm,” said Inspector Michael Cohee, Richmond RCMP Investigative Services.
“Threats of violence, whether online or in person, are taken very seriously, and we remind everyone that such actions will be met with a swift and coordinated response to ensure the safety of all.”
This investigation remains active and ongoing.
