THE Richmond RCMP Organized Crime Unit’s three-year long investigation has resulted in charges including importing / exporting a controlled substance.
The Organized Crime Unit initiated the investigation in April 2021. This complex, multi-pronged investigation, resulted in the identification of extensive evidence through a variety of investigative techniques, including the execution of search warrants at various locations. This multi-year investigation ultimately culminated in charges being laid against multiple individuals.
Jack Xiao Dong Qin has been charged with importing / exporting a controlled substance, and keeping a gaming or betting house.
Additionally, Kuo Li Wong, Michael Yee, Thi Cam Nguyen and Jin Zhang have also been charged with keeping a gaming or betting house.
“These types of investigations can be extremely complex, requiring years of extensive and in-depth investigative work to bring to charge approval. I want to commend the entire coordinated investigative team on their ongoing commitment to this project,” said Chief Superintendent Dave Chauhan, Officer-in-Charge of Richmond RCMP. “Our goal is to make Richmond the safest community in Canada and this investigation serves as testament to the commitment and dedication of the officers working in our community.”
