RICHMOND RCMP say that on Saturday, October 5 at approximately 7 p.m., their officers came upon a man who was on the ground screaming. The man advised officers he was riding his bicycle southbound on Gilbert Road, crossing the intersection of River Road, when he was struck by a white pick-up truck.
According to the cyclist, the truck turned left onto Gilbert Road from River Parkway and collided with his bicycle. The truck was last seen driving southbound on Gilbert Road.
The cyclist was transported to a local area hospital and treated for minor injuries.
Unfortunately, the cyclist was unable to obtain the licence plate of the vehicle and no immediate witnesses were located in the area. Richmond RCMP have canvassed the area for video surveillance but to date none has been located.
Richmond RCMP are asking anyone who was in the area of Gilbert Road and River Road between 6:45 p.m. and 7:15 p.m. on October 5 to review their dash cam footage. Anyone with information regarding this investigation is asked to contact Richmond RCMP at 604-278-1212 and quote file number 2024-31734.
