The Khalsa Lions came into this as the #5 seed playing against the #12 seed Fort St.James Falcons. The Lions may have taken the Falcons lightly in the 1st quarter as the play was very close. Khalsa was just playing too loose, too many no look passes leading to many turn overs, not getting rebound even though they were the taller of the 2 teams.  At the end of the first Khalsa led only by 4 points 15-11.  Going into the 2nd quarter of play Coach Doug Wong must have laid down the law cause the Lions that came out to play. They put on high intensity press caused turn over after turn over, got their 3 point shooting on target, and by half time were up by 15 points 35- 20. The 2nd half was no different Lion kept up the pressure and never gave up the lead. Khalsa had a huge fan turn out for the game there must have been a 150 supporters cheering the Lions with drums, waving posters and giving them loud cheers of encouragement after every basket.  Khalsa gave their supporters plenty to cheer about, getting easily into the quarter-finals by a 78-42 score.

Holy Cross at times playing their Grade 10s, against the senior team of Handsworth. Both teams played hard put up equal points in the first quarter. The 2nd quarter saw much of the same with both teams battling it out point for point. At times, the Crusaders trailed behind the Royals by as little as 2 points. The final moments of the game had team exchanging bucket for bucket.  At the the Holy Cross Crusaders avenged their early season loss and defeated the Handsworth Royals with a final score of 82-80.  Holly cross will face off with #6 seed Semiahmoo on Thursday at 3:30pm.
