THIS week, the Lower Mainland District Integrated Emergency Response Team (LMD IERT) stopped by Ronald McDonald House to visit some kids with a spot on the nice list.
On December 23, Santa’s Support Unit (also known as LMD IERT) went to the Ronald McDonald House (RMH) at the BC Children’s Hospital for their fifth annual visit. The team used their rappelling skills and tactical gear to bring the holiday spirit to the children and families at RMH.
“This event continues to be a special highlight for our team year after year,” says Inspector Rory Buscholl, Officer-in-Charge of LMD IERT. “Having the opportunity to spend time with the children and families at Ronald McDonald House is a true honour. The joy and spirit of the holidays remind us why we do the work that we do. It’s about supporting our communities and keeping people safe.”

The Lower Mainland District Integrated Police Dog Services (LMD IPDS) joined IERT at this year’s event and brought along Police Service Dog Nyx.
IERT and IPDS members pooled their resources and worked in collaboration with the Ronald McDonald House and Santa to deliver gifts for a variety of ages and interests.
