ABBOTSFORD Emergency Services responded to the 31600-block of Maclure Road just before 6 p.m. on Tuesday following reports of a motor vehicle collision.

The single vehicle collision involved a sedan-type vehicle.  The driver of the vehicle was transported to hospital by BC Ambulance Service for treatment of serious injuries.

Police are appealing to the public to come forward if they witnessed the incident or were in the area of Maclure Road (near Clearbrook Road) between 5:50 and 6 p.m. and have dashcam footage that may assist in the investigation.

Abbotsford Police Patrol Officers and the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) remain on scene and have shut down Maclure Road between Crossley Drive and Clearbrook Road as they investigate; the cause has yet to be determined.
