Shots fired into Star Autobody in Surrey’s Newton again

STAR Autobody in Surrey’s Newton has been targeted in a shooting for the second time. Surrey Police Service (SPS) sayd that at approximately 3:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 11, suspect(s) attended the business in the area of 82 Avenue and 124 Street. Once on scene, a suspect fired multiple shots at the business and then fled the area in a dark coloured vehicle.

Nobody was in the business at the time of the shooting and there were no injuries as a result.

At approximately 7:45 a.m, an employee of the business arrived on scene and observed the damage. SPS was subsequently contacted and officers attended.

The same business had first been targeted on October 10 when numerous bullets were fired. The business was closed at the time of the shooting, and nobody was injured or present in the business at the time.

SPS Organized Crime Unit (OCU) has taken conduct of the investigation. The investigation is in its early stages and investigators will be continuing to gather evidence related to the shots fired, including liaising with police partners to determine if there are any links to other files. At this time, the incident is believed to be related to the ongoing series of extortions in Surrey.
