Simran tells The VOICE: “I have always wondered about and admired the women who have used the celebrity they attained through pageants to make genuine impacts in the lives of others.  I have used my experience to bring attention to the growing illiteracy amongst children through short films and outreach initiatives. I further intend to use the Miss World Canada platform to go further and help far more people and make the world a slightly better place.”

She adds: “I have set a path for myself through sheer hard work, professionalism and a strong passion to achieve my goals and I sincerely hope I can inspire other young women to achieve their dreams as well.”

Simran was born and raised in Ludhiana. She grew up in an ethnic Punjabi household with the virtues of family, community and charity. She studied at Sacred Heart Convent School.
