South Asian and East Asian men exchange gunfire in Surrey

SURREY RCMP told The VOICE that witnesses said that South Asian and East Asian men in a Champagne coloured Toyota Camry and a blue Ford Focus exchanged gunfire at 6 p.m. on Saturday on 152 Street near 70A Avenue while heading south.

The Camry hit another vehicle and stopped at which point the driver of the Focus started shooting again at the driver of the Camry. The two vehicles then drove westbound on 66 Avenue.

Police said that they only got some partial licence plate numbers of the vehicles. They are hopeful of tracking down the suspects.

IN another incident on the weekend, some parked vehicles outside residences were damaged by gunfire in the 13400-block of 57 Avenue at 3 a.m. on Sunday.

Police told The VOICE they believe at this point that it was targeted. They are continuing their investigation, talking to residents and looking for any possible video.

Police initially got a call about something suspicious happening in the neighbourhood and did a quick patrol check, but didn’t see anything untoward.

When a resident owner came out of their house later that morning and found that her vehicle had been shot up, she phoned the police who found that a couple of other vehicles had also been hit.
