Surrey Councillor Rob Stutt must be kicked out!

ACCORDING to bc.laws.gov.bc.ca ‘s “disqualification from office for contravening conflict rules,” “a person disqualified from holding office under this Division is disqualified from holding office (a) on a local government … until the next general local election.”

Since the City of Surrey’s Ethics Commissioner Peter Johnson has ruled that Surrey Councillor Rob Stutt, whose son is a Surrey RCMP officer, was in a clear conflict of interest when he voted in Surrey City Council to retain the RCMP in Surrey, Surrey residents are now demanding that Stutt be kicked out of Council.

The Ethics Commissioner’s report states: ““Councillor Stutt had contravened section 21 of the Code of Conduct by participating in the discussion and voting on the police transition question at the November 14, 2022 Council meeting.”

Now the reputation of every Surrey councillor is at stake. Will they vote to punish Stutt or will they be exposed as hypocrites when it comes to ethical standards?

Surrey residents want Stutt kicked out of Council — and the RCMP kicked out of Surrey!
