Surrey Couple Arrested In Failed Terror Plot

A Surrey man and woman have been charged after a foiled domestic terrorist plot targeting the BC legislature on Canada Day.

Amanda Korody (29) and John Nuttall (38) are accused of knowingly facilitating a terrorist activity and possession of an explosive substance.

Both were arrested on Monday at 2 p.m. without incident in Abbotsford and are in custody in Surrey.

The RCMP believe Amanda Korody and John Nuttall tried to place an explosive device at the BC Legislature on Monday.

Amanda Korody and John Nuttall are accused of plotting to place explosives in a public place in Victoria yesterday. The RCMP claims the pair was inspired by al-Qaeda ideology.
