SURREY, BC – This Friday, June 21^st the Surrey International Marathon will officially kick off the 16-week countdown to the 2^nd annual event with a free, family event at Central City Plaza.

The celebration, which will include a special appearance by Trevor Linden of Club 16; special fitness demonstrations; a healthy pancake breakfast including whole wheat pancakes and fruit provided by the North Surrey Lions Club; entertainment by a number of the cultural groups who will be featured along the Marathon’s “Cultural Miles”, and a live broadcast by the Global Morning News team including popular hosts Sophie Lui and Steve Darling. Red FM will also be broadcasting live throughout the morning.

The event will be held Friday, June 21^st from 5:00am (at the start of the Global Morning News broadcast) through 9:00am at the Central City Plaza (13450 – 102nd Ave, in Surrey).
