Surrey Mountie arrested for ties with gang members

A Surrey RCMP detachment member was caught in a vehicle with known gang members earlier this week.
Global News broke the news on Saturday evening, reporting that BC RCMP say their criminal investigation is active and ongoing. The officer was arrested and released, but is under suspension.

He is expected to be charged soon.

Global News says the officer is considered probationary as he has been in the force for less than two years.

With gang violence having resulted in a series of homicides besides numerous shooting incidents over the past five weeks, this was the last thing that the RCMP needed.
