SURREY Police Service (SPS) is asking for the public’s help to identify a suspect in a recent alleged assault incident.
On Monday, January 19 at approximately 11:45 a.m., SPS frontline officers responded to a call from a victim who alleged they had just been assaulted by a man who approached them in the Central City Mall parking lot in the 10100-block of King George Boulevard.
The victim was walking through the parking lot when they were approached by a man who asked them if they wanted to buy a cell phone. When the victim declined, the man allegedly assaulted the victim before leaving the area in a vehicle.
Police are hoping that the public may be able to assist the investigation by identifying the suspect (see photo). The suspect is described as a dark-skinned male, possibly 40-50 years old, and 5’10” tall with a heavy build. He was wearing black shoes, tan-coloured pants, a light-coloured shirt, a black vest, and had a large gold chain necklace.
Anyone who has information on who the suspect may be is asked to contact the Surrey Police Service’s non-emergency line at 604-599-0502 and quote file number 26-6244 (SP).
