Surrey RCMP: Can you help identify driver in hit and run collision?

SURREY RCMP are requesting assistance to identify a driver of a vehicle that struck a pedestrian in Whalley and fled. Police are also seeking witnesses and dash camera video that may assist in the investigation.

On Wednesday, December 16, at approximately 5:44 p.m., Surrey RCMP Gang Enforcement officers came across an injured male in the area of Old Yale Road and University Drive.

The officers learned the man was struck by a car while crossing the street in a marked crosswalk. The suspect vehicle immediately fled the scene. Officers are looking for a silver/grey 4-door sedan that fled eastbound on Old Yale Road (see photo).

The victim is currently in the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
