Surrey RCMP release photo of suspect in stabbing

SURREY RCMP is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect in a stabbing that occurred in Guildford on Thursday at approximately 12:55 p.m.

Surrey RCMP received a report that a female had been stabbed inside a grocery store located in the 14600-block of 104 Avenue. Police arrived within minutes of the call and located a female victim suffering from apparent stab wounds. The victim was given first aid at the scene and then transported to hospital with serious injuries.

Surrey RCMP General Investigation Unit has taken conduct of the investigation and are trying to identify and locate the suspect who fled the area immediately after the stabbing.

The suspect is described as a female in her 30’s, with long dark hair, wearing a navy blue V-neck shirt, black pants and white shoes, and carrying a blue satchel (see photos).

Initial information indicates that the parties were not known to each other and that there was no apparent confrontation prior to the incident that police are aware of. At this point, a possible motive is not known.

“We are releasing a photo of the suspect and asking for the public’s assistance with identifying her,” said Surrey RCMP Media Relations Officer, Cpl. Vanessa Munn. “If anyone has information about the identity of the female suspect we urge you to reach out to our investigators.”
