SURREY RCMP are currently responding to an unfolding event at a single family residence  in the area of 88 Avenue. There is a heavy police presence in that neighbourhood at this time and there is no risk to public safety.

Police say 88 Avenue is currently closed between 164 Street and 160 Street, including 162 Street. Police are asking motorists to use 80 Avenue or 96 Avenue as alternate routes. 

Police say they will release more information when it becomes available.
