Surrey RCMP seek witnesses and video in fatal pedestrian-involved collision

SURREY RCMP are seeking witnesses and video to assist in the investigation of a collision that occurred on November 9 in Newton.

At approximately 5:23 p.m. on Monday, November 9, Surrey RCMP were notified of a pedestrian-involved collision at 121A Street and 75th Avenue. A 69-year-old woman was crossing the intersection at a marked crosswalk when she was struck by a vehicle making a left turn. The driver remained at the scene and provided her information.

The pedestrian was transported to the hospital by ambulance and initially it appeared that she had sustained only minor injuries. However, the woman while being transported. It has not been determined if the death can be attributed to the collision.

The Criminal Collision Investigation Team has taken conduct of this investigation and is asking for anyone with dash-cam video or any witnesses who can assist in this investigation to contact Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502.
